Are you among the WoW players who regularly make use of the WoW Companion App on Android? If so, you should make sure that your smartphone supports a reasonably up-to-date Android version. Because as the WoW developers have announced in a Bluepost, support for the 32-bit version of the app will be discontinued with the release of WoW Patch 9.2 (The End of Eternity).
Community Manager Kaivax writes on the official WoW forum, "After the End of Eternity content update, we will be discontinuing support for the WoW (buy now ) Companion App on 32-bit Android operating systems with apatch. If you're not sure if this change will affect you, rest assured: With the WoW Companion App update for End of Eternity, Android users with a 32-bit system will automatically receive a notification in the app."
So if you are affected by this change, you should normally get a corresponding message in the app. Most users of the WoW Companion app don't have to worry, though, because 64-bit for Android has already been available since Android version 5.0 (Lollipop). Those who currently run Android 10 or a newer OS on their smartphone can also be quite sure that their own device runs with 64-bit - because Google itself has already discontinued support for 32-bit with Android 10.
By the way, there is no official release date for WoW Patch 9.2 The End of Eternity and thus also for the end of the 32-bit support of the companion app on Android. However, we assume that the update will be released in late February or early March 2022.Support buffed - it will only take a minute. Thanks!
