As most of you probably already know in the next patch we will be going to the new land of Nazjatar. This area was previously resting on the bottom of the ocean. The masses of water flooding it have been dispersed by Azshara. It is known that she has a powerful force, but she wouldn't be able to do it alone. We now know that she used a powerful artifact to do so.... Tidestone of Golganneth!

Sound familiar?

For the uninitiated, let us remind you:

This was one of the so-called "Pillars of Creation," artifacts created by the Titans themselves. A large part of the plot of the add-on Legion was based on their search. We found the Tidestone in Aysun and by the way we also met Prince Farondis and his subjects there. Both the Prince and his people were cursed by Azshara during the War of the Ancients. Their souls have not been at peace ever since. As the dead, they have been imprisoned in the world of the living. What did they do to deserve such a fate? Well, Farondis wanted to use the power of the artifact to destroy the Well of Eternity to prevent the Burning Legion from invading. Unfortunately, he did not succeed, for his intentions were discovered and he and his subjects were punished.

Eventually we capture the Tidestone and hide it in Dalaran until the remaining Pillars are captured.

We needed the power of the Pillars of Creation to seal the Tomb of Sargeras and cut off the Burning Legion from reinforcements. We succeeded, of course, and the artifacts are safe there to this day. Are we sure? In patch 8.2 we learn that Azshara has captured Tidestone. How did it happen? It seems impossible for us to leave the Pillars unguarded after our success in the Tomb.

After the campaign on Argus, while trying to remove the warp from Sargeras' sword, Magni says that the power of the Pillars would be enough to do that, but we can't because the Tomb MUST remain sealed.

Was Azshara limited to Tidestone or did she take the others as well? One of the artifacts in question is the Tears of Elune. This artifact was used by Xavius to warp Ysera. During a series of quests related to Essences of the Heart of Azeroth, we learn that the Emerald Dream has been warped and that Void has nested in it, and Ysera's soul is nowhere to be found

The absence of even one means that the Tomb of Sargeras is open again. The Burning Legion may no longer be a problem, but its creator is still alive... No one knows what consequences this could have.

All indications are that Farondis will play some role in the upcoming patch. During the Azsuna adventure, we learned what kind of hatred he has for Azshara. It is possible that we will need his help during the Nazjatar campaign.

Another clue is the portal to Azsuna in the Portal Chamber in Orgrimmar and Stormwind. It can't be a coincidence that Blizzard chose this location. We're probably in for a trip to Azsuna again!

Maybe we'll finally get the return of Khadgar, who in Legion helped us get the Pillars of Creation and use their powers... maybe this time he can help us get them back.
